Frans Masereel in Dialogue with Caroline Coolen, Tom Liekens, and Camille Dufour
Fifty years after the death of Frans Masereel, one of the most influential printmakers of the 20th century, this exhibition marks a timely moment to revisit his legacy. Curated by Herman Maes and Marc Milissen, the show brings together an extensive selection of Masereel’s prints and artefacts from the provincial art collection. Presented in dialogue with the centuries-old murals of the Beguinage Church in Sint-Truiden and the work of three contemporary artists — Caroline Coolen, Tom Liekens, and Camille Dufour — who have each built a distinct practice around woodcut techniques.
